Josh M. Harrison, Partner |
Josh Harrison was born on August 4, 1951, in
Fort Worth, Texas, and grew up in the Fort Worth
area. In 1964, his family moved to Austin, Texas
where he graduated from Saint Stephen's
Episcopal School in 1969. After graduating with
a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the
University of Texas at Austin in 1973, Josh went
on to obtain his M.B.A. from the University of
Texas at Austin Graduate School of Business, in
1975. During this time he was a member of the
United States Coast Guard Reserve, from which he
was honorably discharged in 1975. |
Immediately after completing his graduate
studies, Josh began employment with Tennessee
Gas Transmission, a subsidiary of Tenneco, as a
financial analyst, evaluating the profitability
of supplemental gas supply projects. He worked
briefly for Cities Service as a financial
analyst in 1978-79, but returned to Tennessee
Gas Transmission in 1979 where he served as a
Senior Rate Analyst, for a regulated interstate
pipeline system. He transferred to the parent
company, Tenneco, in 1980, and was promoted to
Financial Specialist, with responsibility for
monitoring financial restrictions on Tenneco's
operations, by virtue of various loan covenants. |
During the time he was employed in the gas
industry, Josh attended law school at night at
South Texas College of Law, from which he
received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in
1983. |
After being admitted to the bar in 1983, Josh
began his practice in Houston with Dyche &
Wright, which later merged with the firm of
Phillips, King & Smith. This practice was
concentrated in the areas of commercial
litigation and bankruptcy litigation
representing financial institutions and other
business creditors. |
|
|
|
From November, 1986, to September, 1988, he
practiced with the firm of Boyar, Norton &
Blair, emphasizing general civil litigation,
creditors' bankruptcy representation, labor law,
consumer transaction litigation on behalf of
retailers, as well as litigation in the areas of
lender liability, title fraud, and trade
secrets. |
He joined Hagerman & Seureau in September, 1988,
and practiced with that firm until March, 1992,
when the firm's ongoing practice was largely
concluded, as a result of the retirement of its
owner. During his tenure at Hagerman & Seureau,
he practiced with an emphasis on commercial
litigation, creditors' bankruptcy practice,
foreclosure, lender liability defense, general
business litigation, and defense of deceptive
trade practice actions. |
Josh is a licensed Certified Public Accountant,
in addition to being licensed to practice law in
the courts of the State of Texas, the State of
New Mexico, the United
States District Courts for the Southern,
Eastern, Northern, and Western Districts of
Texas, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court
of Appeals. In addition to the State Bar of
Texas, he is a member of the Texas Association
of Bank Counsel and Houston Bar Association. He
also served as an officer and director of the
Houston FM 1960 Rotary Club. Additionally, from
1984 to 2001, he has been actively involved in
youth soccer, through the Klein Soccer Club,
Classics Soccer Club, and Klein Quest Soccer
Club, as a coach, referee, officer, and a member
of various Boards of Directors. |
Josh and his wife, Vicky, live in the Klein area
with their two sons, Joshua and David. Vicky is
self-employed as a landscape, wildlife and
portrait artist. Joshua is a graduate of Texas
A&M University in College Station, Class of
2001, with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial
Distribution and a Masters in Education. Joshua
is teaching history at Kingwood High School and
is coaching the Junior Varsity soccer team. David
graduated from Texas Tech University with a
double major in Management and Marketing, and is
a licensed real estate agent, currently working
in Lubbock. |
